spicy pulled pork

summer just isn’t summer without a good pulled pork sandwich. this was my first time cooking pork so i was a little nervous. thankfully this recipe was really easy…put it in the crock pot and let it set. this recipe is from the pioneer woman.

spicy pulled pork

ingredients

  • 2 onions, quartered
  • 1 large pork butt/shoulder
  • salt/pepper
  • 1 11oz can chipotle peppers in adobe sauce
  • 2 cans soda
  • 4 tbs brown sugar

directions

place the quartered onions in the bottom of crock pot.

season the pork butt/shoulder with salt/pepper and then place on top of the onions.

pour the chipotle peppers on top, followed by the soda.

mix the brown sugar in the liquid.

cover and cook on low for 6 hrs.

shred the pork butt/roast with a fork.

then add the meat back to the remaining liquid in the crock pot and let reheat for a few minutes.

serve by itself or on a bun with some yummy coleslaw. enjoy!
