trash to treasure

This scarf is made from an old t-shirt…Yes, I said t-shirt! And this has to be the easiest DIY project I have done yet. I had been wanting to try this for some time now but I didn’t have an old shirt (or at least one I wanted to cut up). So when I went to the community yard sales in this post, I found one for 50¢. You can use any size t-shirt. The bigger the size, the bigger the opening (or hang) of the scarf. I used a mens size large t-shirt.

Materials

  • T-shirt
  • Scissors

Directions

Cut the t-shirt just below the arms.

Cut 1/2 inch slits vertically along the bottom.

Pull on each strand just enough to stretch it out.

Now wear it as the treasure (and no longer trash) that it is!
